Terry Legum has been a practicing attorney in Northern Virginia since 1981. Early in his career – while offering a general practice serving clients’ needs in corporate and business law, real estate, personal injury, family and divorce law, traffic offenses and criminal defense – his special emphasis has historically been in collections.

Mr. Legum has first-hand experience understanding the needs of the business community. After earning his undergraduate degree, he served in an executive position with a regional retail clothing chain and clothing manufacturer. He further enhanced his business and entrepreneurial skills while in law school, operating a legal support service that specialized in process serving, court filing, and skip tracing, later expanded to include eviction services and collections. The eviction division, which he sold in 1991, was the largest and most successful of its kind in the metropolitan area. His additional ventures have included building a limousine service, a lock and security business and a national private collection agency focused on assisting custodial parents in collecting back child support.

Mr. Legum approaches his clients’ issues and legal needs with a sense of urgency and understanding not generally found in the legal profession. These qualities have resulted in long-term relationships with Legum Law’s clients and have fueled the growth of the firm’s practice over the years.

Mr. Legum takes an active role in his community. He is a past President, Vice-President and Treasurer of his homeowner's association and served on its Board of Directors for over 12 years. He has also played a variety of coaching roles with local sports leagues, including Coaching Assistant for the Upward basketball league, Baseball Coach for the Arlington County Fraternal Order of Police Little League, Assistant Coach for the Fairfax County Little League, and Braddock Road Assistant Football Coach. Mr. Legum is an accomplished guitar player and is a member of a local band.
